After an invitation, I've decided to check this place out. I currently own two 65' Mustangs, a coupe and a convertible and I have been active in the early Mustang scene since 1972. The 65' coupe has a big boy SBF engine for racing (434ci) with a stick shift transmission. It spent 15 years running the drag strip and was street driven when the track closed each year. It has several 9 second timeslips to its name, but has since been retired to street duty only. Still Fun as Hell though! I bought it circa 1980. The 65' convertible came along 2 years later (1982) and it was on and off in storage the whole time until just last year when I finished the restoration. Its power comes from an SVO 302 roller lifter 302, with aluminum Ford heads and an E cam. Its transmission is a AOD with a Broader performance valve body and the traction lock rear has 3:80 gears. Its not a menance like the coupe, but its a lot of fun to cruise the rural back roads of my old stomping grounds!
I am happy to say that all of my classic vehicles (includes a 68' GMC SWB pickup--owned since 1974) have been built from start to finish with my own hands to my strict standards. Other classic vehicles have also come and gone, but these have always remained my favorites.
