NorCal Cleveland drop in party....a success

With the T5 in my Coupe, since I'm not concerned about "originality"... I cut out a section from the front of the shifter hole in the tunnel big enough so that I can get the shifter in and out without having to undo or move anything, tacked some strips to the top of the piece I cutout, smoothed, painted it, and used it as a removable panel to access the shifter. It works really well

Congrats on an event-free and injury-free install. Can I ask what the specs are on your motor? Did Parrish build it?

David,
We agreed that having to many body's and hands to cushion the impact we optd to not lay blankets over the shock towers. The gap between the manifolds and shock towers wasn't so much an issue as it was getting the motor mounts lined up with the brackets attached to the shock towers.

I do see the driver's manifold is pretty close to the steering box, but nothing alarming. I have a good 1" gap between the front of the manifolds and the shock towers.

John,
Oh hell I don't remember my specs, leaving the papers at home. Will get back with them when I find them. It has a custom Isky cam built for my old fart street demands to impress the hot chics.

Dave Haver of San Mateo rebuilt the motor.

Looks like a blast!!! Good to see the Christmas spirit over in the shop.

If you are looking for a shifter and have a good chunk of spare change, look into the MGW short throw shifters. http://www.mgwltd.com/mustang_shifter.shtml They're the bees knees of Ford shifters. You can index the location of the shifter so that it is angled towards the driver. Not exactly cheap though. You may want something with a longer handle due to the location of the shifter in these cars, though.

Good god! I can't believe how long it took for someone to notice the trash can. Sluggy, you know how much I love you, otherwise I would not have a trash can named after you.

I have said it before and I will say it again... You NoCal dudes have all of the fun. :ecit Are you still playing poker at John's place? fd

Yes, John posted a notice in the "Events" section for a mid January Poker Night. You could make it to John's house in about 7 hours!!!!!!
