well finally after this past winter disaster with denting my roof in the mustang. i finally got some new stripes. overall very happy with the way it came out.
next thing to do which is waiting in the garage is subframe connecters and leaf springs. man does those 40 year old springs clank and clatter.
theres an all ford show next sunday in my area hope to get there to show off the car.

Hey thanks everyone it's not perfect by any means but Ive done everything myself except the new stripe, the first one I did but what a PITA vinyl is. From what it used to look like til now is pretty cool. Time will tell how the rest of the car comes out. I would some time in the future like to add cam and heads to my performer intake. I think this Winter I'm going to do the rear, with new gears and maybe a posi. How can I tell between an 8.8 and a 9 inch rear?
 
It is a very Nice Coupe.
Quick and easy difference, An 8.8 will have a bolt-on rear cover, while the 9" will be like the 8" and have a removable "chunk" or "pumpkin" or whatever you want to call it. Basically the guts go in the front on a 9" as an assembly and the 8.8 is more like the Dana and GM axles. Completely different animals. Telling an 8.8 from a 7.5 will be harder.

I should have added that they didn't start using the 7.5/8.8 axles in Mustangs until the 79 Fox body and really I think the 8.8 wasn't offered until 86 in the GT's. The Mustang II still used the 8". The 8" and 9" look a lot alike. The 9" wasn't usually offered in the Mustangs except for high performance versions (Shelby's, Big Blocks, drag pack cars, etc.). Most classic Mustangs with small blocks have the 8" rear axle.
