New DD, take 2.

I just picked a new DD. I have been without a car for 3 weeks. We have been running with only one car. Driving the jeep 80 mile a day was keeping the gas companies happy, but not my bank account.

So after searching for the right car, since we made the wrong choice with the Jaguar, I finally picked up my new ride.

Went with an infiniti G35x. It is a great car. 280 HP. AWD. I really like it so far.

Great car.

My wife drives a Nissan Murano which, I believe, has the same engine and CVT Transmission. When i drive hers it is not unusual to unknowingly find myself doing 90+ MPH because of the smoothness of the Engine/Transmission combination.

Enjoy, you made a great choice. :steer

Re: New DD, take 2.

It doesn't have the cvt transmission, but I do find myself cruising along at 80+ and not even realizing it.

Trade it back....Bad color. :barf1
Who would have such a dark color on a car? :shrug :roll

280hp and you're going to get better gas mileage. Right. :yah :pbj

Shh! I told Jen it would save us on gas. It's supposed to get 25 mpg, but with my lead foot it won't. I just cane seem to stay off the go pedal.

For the past 8 years my DD has been an older Q45 and other than some difficult to service components, the car has been remarkably solid and comfortable. Though I can eek out 21 mpg on extended freeway runs, the real gas mileage is between 13 and 17!! Good luck with yours.

:wtf Mixed driving (about 50/50) I get 15-18 in a full size Dodge Ram, and 11 towing 7000 lbs.

Nice. As for gas mileage.....I drive a Silverado, which is basically a v8 powered, 4wd cinderblock. I gave up on calculating mpg, just too depressing.

My wifes current DD is a 2012 Murano, they switched to burning reg fuel and dropped 1 mpg, she gets 21-3 highway, she has had 3 maximas that got a little better--the 01 Maxima se was a screamer--it would squeal a little rubber shifting into second just floorboarding it and letting it shift itself (auto.)--my 2011 f150, 302 gets over 20 highway always, and it will smoke a chevy 5.3.--up to 95 where it shuts off.

Re: New DD, take 2.

Well for the last 3 weeks I have driving my wifes jeep grand Cherokee. It's averages about 16 on the highway with the 5.7L hemi. I put 80 miles a day 6 days a week on it so it is nice to finally park it for a while.
Filled up the infinti today and averaged just shy of 25 mpg for the 300 miles I've put on it so far. And I definitely haven't been grandpa driving. I'll just say that 6000 rpms is quite fun in this thing. Not that I do it a lot, but I had to see what it could do.

Nice car for sure. But for now we tAke my wife's 2011 Malibu on long trips. Last trip to PA we got 33mpg. Not nearly as fun to drive as your car or a stang, but with gas prices and daycare prices it's what we have to do :(

Nice, pat, but dude you should have picked up a s60. The t6 is awesome even if it is not an R model.

Re: New DD, take 2.

I would have loved to get the new s60, but unfortunately having a car payment was not an option right now. We are debt free except for our mortage and need to keep it that way for awhile. When its time to trade it in then maybe the s60 will be next.
