I am looking at purchasing a '96 GT convertible and wanted to get some input regarding which Mustangs are better investments. I can get this one for $6500 and it has 90K miles on it. If I have around $10K to spend, what would be the best model to look for? Thanks for your input. :shrug

Anything of that vintage will continue to depreciate for a LONG time before/if ever there is a demand for such that would cause the price to hold steady or increase. The Fox bodies are just now showing signs that they may tick upwards in value and become more of a traditional "collector" car.

If you want to buy a mustang as an investment, outside of getting a great deal on something like an old Shelby or Boss, you're going to be disappointed. Buy one because you like it and enjoy it for what it is. If you buy one that needs any amount of restoration, understand you will put more (probably much, much more) into it than you will get back when you sell.

$6500 seems a bit high for a 96 GT convertible. About 3 years ago I bought a 98 GT convertible for $7000, car had 35,000 actual miles!!!
