NAG

NAG - not me, but my new pony.
We bought, or were given a rusty '67 coupe, red C-code Sprint.
Considering all the new parts that came with it for $500, the car was free.

My hubby's working on it for about a month.
The fact that it's rusty and of questionable mechanics doesn't really matter. Mike has a tool box and welder he likes to use. Already repaired rust in the fenders, fender aprons and rockers. Still a little bit of floor and a quarter to do down the road.
Not planning to spend much more on it. The red has been touched up with a can of red spray paint.
Interior cleaned up pretty good. Even has a nice red console. Love the '67 console!
Got it running last week. Now licensed and insured. Kind of fun tooling around in a NAG.
It's got some electrical issues so the wiring is out now. But back together soon enough.
Can't drive our other classics to just bee-bop around town, so now the NAG will be a secondary grocery getter.
Maybe I'll enter it in some "UP and Coming" classes, but it will never be a real show car.
The new personalized plate is MUSTNAG - suits me perfectly.

I've heard that once or twice before..... Good luck with that!

Seriously though, try and keep it as a "beater" car. Something that you can enjoy and not have to worry about preserving/maintaining heritage.

Welcome aboard Joyce! I'm trying to keep all of the Mustang people in my life straight.... aren't you the wife of Dave (not me, the other Dave)? Don't you have a small collection of Mustangs?

Anyways, welcome aboard and be very careful in the PW protected forums.

Now that's what we're talking about! Nice ride,it looks like it has lots of potential.

Awesome driver you got there.

BTW welcome to StangFix :tigg

I see a pink 66? in the garage...what's up with that one?

Oh yeah, dig the dog's name....Orca :rofl

Thanks for the welcome.

Midlife - shouldn't an ol' NAG have horse blanket covers?

It looks better in pictures than it is. Drove it myself a few minutes ago. It's running great. Still some electrical light bugaboos.

PINKIE the '66 is my baby. Long story for another time. The dog has ridden in her, but it was not a comfortable feeling. Now he has his own pony. Which is another reason the horse blanket covers are perfect.

Don't know Dave. My hubby is Mike. He's a lurker, never posts.

The NAG will stay just that. We have a '67 FB which the real money will soon be disappearing into. More on that later too.

When you're ready we'd love to hear the story of "Pinky" and see plenty of pics. You can add your own gallery at will.

Yes welcome and you could get your money back from the console alone! Great deal. Can't wait for the Pinky and FB pics!

The NAG kinda looks like the car your son and DIL were building, IIRC it was from her side of the family somewhere? Like her dads old car that they got from an aunt?

I'm impressed you remember that story. I assure it is not the same car. My DIL wouldn't part with her Dad's '67 now that she has it. It is still undergoing rebuild/restoration - but quite slowly. Young couples have lots of other priorities.
Thanks for noticing though. Oh, her car doesn't have a vinyl top.
