My wife's old car. A '66 coupe restomod-eration

Beautiful work. Hope to see the car at Cruisin' the Coast 2015..... I know that mine will NOT be ready for 2015 but shooting for 2016. Keep them coming, looks great.

Thanks guys. The encouragement really does help to keep me motivated. I don't know when it will be finished. I had a plan but that's gone out the window long ago. I hope to have it finished before cruising the coast but that is tentative still.
 
image.jpg FINALLY got the bottom sprayed with the bed liner! The suspension is all powder coated, the rear differential should be in this week and hopefully as well. The fly wheel, clutch, starter etc is all ordered and the engine and transmission will be mated and ready to install. I wanted to have the engine broken in and dynoed but have been unable to find anyone local who would do it. I guess we will just have to Dyno it later. More pics coming soon once it's on ground as a roller.

Time for some updates. We've been pretty busy on the car.

I ordered the Haymaker AC system from Restomod Air. I live in Louisiana and gets very hot down here so I want to be able to move as much air as possible. The area behind the dash is pretty tight so we built brackets to allow the unit to tuck up higher under the dash away from the firewall.

It does hang down a bit more than I wanted but the center console will cover most if not all of this. It should not be visible once it's all done. Also, mounting it away from the firewall makes it easier to run my hoses and to hide wiring. I will be installing a tray to mount my wiring in on the firewall.

I am going with a much larger radiator in my car to help cool the stroker engine. The battery will be mounted in the trunk so it should allow me plenty of room in the engine baY.

The rear diff is all finished and and all of the suspension parts are powder coated. A little more work up front and we will paint the engine bay body color and begin assembly. The engine and tranny are are all together and are ready to install. The rest of the car will be painted once it is a rolling chassis.
 
Fantastic work. Your build is definitely an inspiration for my build. Sorry to keep "stealing" so many of your ideas. ;) I will be working on my 4-link installation when I get home this hitch. Hopefully have it completed before I have to come back to the rig. What size radiator are you installing?
 
It's from a late 60's Mustang. It requires about 4" per side more room. Make sure whatever you use is the right height and the inlet/outlets match your engine. There was some discussion earlier in this build thread.

I'm flattered you think enough of my ideas to use them. My car is just a bunch of ideas I stole myself. I really don't think there are many things that haven't been tried yet. we have had to modify things as the car has gone along to allow things to work together but that is the fun part. Building something unique and custom. Not just throwing on a bunch of bolt on pieces.

A note on the AC system. I think if I was to do it over I would use one of the Restomod AC inline bulkheads instead of the one I have. Also I think I would go into the side of the engine bay like the picture here instead of running all the way back to the firewall the way I did.

Beginning work on the dash. I was thinking about just smoothing the dash and installing these vents but Corey is trying to,talk me into this. I don't know...... Any opinions?image.jpg
