I spent the last weekend removing my toploader, clutch, flywheel and bellhousing, between raindrops. Pictures, with comments:
Here's the toploader that came out.
Inside of bellhousing. Wait, what's that in the corner...
Close-up of piece of spring. I think I know what that is...
Yep, something's missing. The clutch material is nearly gone on both sides. :wth
And the other half of the spring ended up here.
The grease trick didn't work for me to remove the pilot bushing, so I started cutting and chiseling. It finally came out. :yah
Installation of the new T5 is next weekend. With lots of luck and NorCal Stangfixer help, I'll be driving it to Knott's the following weekend.
