My Rotten Endng to MITM 09 w/pics

SORRY TO HEAR ,IT MUST HURT ALOT, BUT NOBODY GOT HURT AND THATS THE MOST IMPORTANT.
SECOND, I THINK YOU WERE VERY LUCKY WITH YOUR BAD LUCK.
LIKE DAVESANBORN SAID , IT COULD BE A LOT WORSE.
THE BIG DENT IS VERY REPAIREBLE IMHO.
TELL THE BODYSHOP TO TAKE ENOUGH TIME TO INSPECT THE DAMAGE.
MAYBE THERE ARE SOME HIDDEN BENTS ALTHOUGH I DAUGHT IT SEEN THE PICS.

Ok, someone has to say it, so let's get it over with:

The guy wasn't homeless or inebriated, so he couldn't see John's car behind him.

Sorry, John. Someone had to get this thread going sideways.

That's right, she remains invisible to sober people.

My painter looked at it yesterday and since we have the codes, he should be able to get close to matching it. Both he and SAC69 think the taillight panel should be replaced. I have an 10 am appt tomorrow with the body shop. We'll see how it goes.

It sounds crazy, but you might check with the paintless dent removal guys. I didn't notice any cracked paint in your pics.

If it's the original tail light panel, it would be best to try and fix it. There's a lot of spot welds back there, it's hard to duplicate a factory appearance.

Sorry to hear about the bump.

Same thoughts

We have a paintless dent removal guy that comes to the dealership all the time... does some amazing work, and VERY cheap.

I think your painter is right. That thing is way too stretched for a paintless dent dude. It's buckled all the way over to the left tail light. At least it looks that way in the pic.
