I am entering on of my Mustangs in it's first show this weekend. Going in is my 69 coupe 302 2v C4. The bodywork and paint is being finished as I type. Asside from paint and body repairs all work has been done my me.

Work to date,
Replaced drivers door due to wreck and age (pronounced rust)
SSBC drum to disc conversion in front
All new break lines front and rear
Classic Air in-dash AC
New dash pad
Front seats re-covered
3 row radiator
Pertronics electronic ignition and coil
Patriot headers
2" duals w/crossover and Glasspacks (farmed this out to muffler shop)
Rear leafsprings
KYB shocks all around
Replace almost all power steering pieces
Full rebuild on C4 and shift kit (had help from friend with this)
Crager S/S rims (original set from early 70s)
Various de-rusting and painting
Un-told misc parts either broken or beyond my life support abilities

This is a daily driver, driven every day (kids, shopping, work, fun...etc) I'm not figuring on First place. Second is OK with me :10

This car is in addition to the 70 Y'all have been helping me with. This one is being finished for our oldest who reciently returned from his 2nd tour to Iraq. I'll post some pics of the showing and me accepting the awards later :vic

Wish me luck :pbj

Good luck. Please get us pictures of you giving the finger to the guy with the 2010 Cobra who has done nothing other than mail off his monthly car payment and Armorall his tires as he accepts your trophy.

LOL :nk

Good luck at the show, don't take the results personally if you don't win so just enjoy checking out the other cars and getting ideas from them.

OK..OK

Here is a pic of the 69 befor it went to paint. I'll post more from the show this weekend. Of the trophy of course :vic

Anyone notice how much that door looks like the one I spent all that time de-rusting for my '70. Well as long as the kid is happy :cry

Good luck! Like Tom said, though, just enjoy the show and don't get hung up on the trophies. Dave is correct that it usually goes to the guy that wrote the biggest check, not the one that did the best or most work.

For me this show is all about meeting others and showing the car. I never intended this car to be a show car. We drive it every day and enjoy it. If others like it, that is a plus but not necessary :)

LMAO!

I was thinking it - but not going to say it. LoL.

Been there, done that.

Make sure your car is clean! I can't believe how many cars I've seen that have dirt all over the engine, carpets dirty (french fries in one case1 ). I've even seen this at MCA shows where major judging will take place.

Like others have said, just go and enjoy the time and don't worry about the trophy. If you get one, all that much more fun. I and others around me go to benifit car shows to mainly contribute to those that need it and we just have a relaxing time enjoying all the cars and people. If you go to more shows you will get to know alot of the regulars and have a much better time. So, go have some fun at your first show.

Well it was a LONG day. It started at 11PM Friday night when the car returned from the painter. I pulled an all nighter preping the car. Cleaning, reassembly etc. I can say those 5 hour energy drinks work less and less after 4 or 5 of them :craz.

Arrived at the show at 5:45AM. Was the 6th car in the field. THis let me pick my spot. With the projected afternoon tem in the 110 mark, shade was a MAJOR consideration.

It was a very nice shw. Over 195 cars registered with 185 actualy showing up and judged. There was a Chilly cook-off, Fire Fighter compitition, Kids events, Food, Drinks etc etc. There was a good turn out of Mustangs, around 10 I believe. Over all there were 40 classes judged for the show. I made some friends and some contacts. It was a good day :)

O' as it turns out I won 2nd place in the Late 60's Mustang class :vic

Thanks to everyone for your comments. I went only planning on having a good day with others into cars. This alone made it a good day. Winning 2nd was a very nice perk :10

Congrats!! Sounds like your all nighter paid off!

I just got back from helping put on our all Ford Show today. Just about 80 cars this year, down a little but not bad for us.

Awesome. The car looks great. I like the display you had along with the car. Kick back and enjoy your favorite cold beverage. :10

Very cool! Glad you had fun, and getting that trophy is always an added perk, for sure. The car looks really nice, too!
