I'm trying to get the car prepped for a new firewall. Before I get there, I want to go ahead and get the passenger side torque box in. I found that my front outer rocker extension was had a hole in it.
It was rusted through right in front of the lower fender bolt hole. The P/O has pop-riveted some sheetmetal over it.
The inner rocker had a hole in the same area
It can be patched with no trouble.
Problem is getting the old front rocker extension out is a booger. I first cut the inner rocker well past where the extension will be. Then drilled the spot welds.
Now it's ready for me to finish getting the rest of the extension out to make way for this
This piece is a major PITA. Should have it finished tomorrow evening if all goes well.

Finally decided to take a week away from work and spend with the stang...
First off was to finish the outer rocker extension
With that in and finished, I could work on getting a torque box in. As most know the 67's didn't come with a torque box, but I wanted one for rigidity. Since there wasn't one to replace and I had experience with the drivers side, this one went in without much work. I split the one piece into two separate pieces as getting it in is alot easier.
Then onto removing the remainder of the firewall.
HOLY SH!!!!T
Mocked in place and ready for fitment...
Hopefully the work continues and I can get the cowl and dash back in the car this week.

Got my lower cowl and side panels prepped for epoxy. Thought I would go ahead and spray the hood hinges while I was at it.
I'm not enamored with the results of the epoxy. It was the first time I had EVER sprayed paint through a air gun. I had everything set up (I thought) except for the pattern at the gun... doh. I sprayed a couple panels before I realized the error of what I was doing. I finally set the gun up properly on a fender. Live and learn, I suppose and I learned tons. The next spray session will go alot better.
Here's some pics of the hinges, they turned out well.

Made some progress, but ran into a roadblock that kept me from getting the lower cowl back in.

Here's a few pics of the way me and Craig got everything lined up
I tried to repeat it and all the previous screw holes lined up perfect, but the something had moved pushing the fender alignment back out. So, that's the next project... to figure out why it moved and how to get it back aligned.

looks like a double dose of asprin task ahead of you :skul-What screw holes don't line up the fender bolt holes in the top of the aprons? I bought canadian repro's for the back that hold the hood hinges which were right on the money, and the fronts were not so good quality on the drivers side i had to drill 2 of the holes out a little to fit the U clips correctly,

It's the cowl area that isn't allowing the fenders to align to the door gap correctly. Craig and I had this taken care of. We had screws holding everything together. When I blew it back apart to weld, something shifted. All the screws we had placed all line back up, but the gaps aren't right. I'm not sure how or what happened. Craig is going to make another trip down and this time we will weld everything in once we get it right.
