Mustang Ghia???

It's a Mustang II with a landau roof. About as lowly as Mustangs come. You couldn't get a less performance oriented car...and he's asking somewhere around 3 to 4 times what it's worth on a good day.

You could drive it around town if you could buy a rust free and decent shape car. I always liked the fastback models. A small block will fit and you can make a cool sleeper out of a Ghia.
Parts are tough to get. Sometimes you will have to get the equal Pinto part.
But heck our cars were just rebodied Falcons.

My brother's first car was one. My sister had one too. Both of them were POS's and an abomination to what the Mustang name meant!
If you like them, that's fine, but one of those will never be in my garage. Those were dark years for Ford and Mustangs. 1979 brought a collective sigh of relief!

Yeah, that belongs to a friend of mine. He has a couple actually. They are top of the line King Cobra models...FWIW. In his defense, he also has things like a Boss 302, some original Shelbys and a stable of other very cool mustangs. He got the II's because his first car happened to be one and he also wanted to have a "full" collection of all Mustangs. Unfortunately I told my wife we should get her a Mustang and to start looking for a body style she liked.
I was thinking 67 - 70, she found a 77 mustang II coupe just like that one only brown and said this is it. :roul

I like 'em! I would like to have a 78 King Cobra. I had a 1980 Monza Spider which was the Chevy equivalent. I loved that car too...

Had a brand new 76 white with blue stripes cobra II, Car was very nice to drive, Can't really say a bad thing about them. Rich.

That clist one sounds like it might have some potential. It has original paint, sunroof and a 302.
I think the feeling of 'hate' is more of the auto industry of the era than the style of the car itslef. The II was a car of the times. Poor quality and lacking in any power. The style was, as was said, more in keeping with the 'Mustang' look than that of the future Fox bodies.
A II with a decent 302 is a decent car. :thu

Like I said I like the fastback style, but the little coupes with a nice stroker engine in them would be a killer sleeper.
I would even consider doing it to a Pinto Wagon. would make a cool DD.
I also really like and would like to find the 72-74 Mercury Capri. I saw one when I was a younger in the 80s that was super modified with a 351C and a blower, cage narrowed rear end and much more. they had to move the front seats back to have enough room to cut the things to stuff all that in there and since it was tubed no back seat. Now that is a DD!
