Mirrors.

Now that I'm driving my Mustang a lot more, it's become apparent that the side view mirrors are nearly useless. Is there a better (bigger or wider) I can use that will still look period correct on my car? I am aware of the bullet style mirrors like those that came on Shelby's, but I'm not sure they are enough improvement to justify the change. Any ideas?

Personally I like the 67/68 manual mirrors. They're rectangular which provides a decent view and appearance wise they are not nearly as bulky looking as the deluxe mirrors.

You could simply adhere a wider angle mirror to your existing ones and maintain the original appearance. Many new cars have dual angle mirrors in the same housing these days.

The bullet mirrors I'd think would be smaller than the stock mirrors.

Do they bolt on in place of standard 65/66 mirrors or would they require new holes...

I don't know for a 66, but the hole spacing is roughly 5-7/8" on the 67-70 style mirrors. Just looking at pics of a 66 mirror, they look shorter, so I'm assuming you would need to drill a new hole and reuse one of the others.
