Yea, I saw that. It looks really great. I'm trying to do all the little stuff like making sure everything fits correctly, so when it is painted, and I still do not know by who as of yet, I won't scratch anything. I'm doing the body work, but I know many shops won't paint a car because they haven't done the body work.

I went from this:

The body shops want to strip it again and start over, and I said hell no as I have it perfect. I still want to paint it myself, but I need to find a paint booth and a painter that will assist me.

It was tough to find someone who would :
1) paint a whole car at all, even tho I did all disassembly and would do all reassembly
2) paint over any body work I did, even with no filler, wanted to strip everything I already did and charge to do it
3) didn't have a long wait list, 6 months to 2 years in "paint jail" just to start
4) weren't going to charge some ridiculous amount because when they hear "classic" or "vintage" what they hear is "this guy is loaded"

I finally found a good guy, and I took GREAT notes

That is exactly what I'm finding.

I have an Apollo 6-stage paint sprayer that gets 80% of the paint on a panel with almost no overspray, and I even have a 21 foot portable paint booth.

What I can't find is a place to let me put it up and I can't find a paint shop that will just let me rent their paint booth when it's not in use.

Put that sucker in a big mini-storage unit one weekend!

I've read some guys did AMAZING paint jobs in their driveway, garage or carport.

One fellow I have known 30 years that owns a body shop told me I could use his shop a whole weekend for $100 just to cover use of the booth, electricity, paper, tape, etc. and all I had to do was work out which weekend his lead painter could do it. That painter initially agreed, then his mother fell and was in a coma for weeks. When she finally did recover, ALL his off time and then some has been focused on taking care of her, so there went that. But it all ended up okay when I did find a painter that didn't shut me out as soon as I explained what I had done and I just needed someone to help get my son's car across the finish line. We agreed on a price, I stayed involved, and in just a few weeks I had a painted car.
