The only problem of running sans anti-freeze would be that day that it goes below freezing and you had intended on changing the coolant but forgot.

yes, but that is a very rare occurrence here and I won't drive it if it's that cold. My garage is under the house so it stays above freezing even if outside drops below 32.

I never ran antifreeze in the car since it spent most of the time at the track in the barn.
