Yep, life happens, but if you push through something will spark the interest sooner or later, and you will be dedicated again.

Yep, I did that for three years. Almost sold the stang. Get out there and accomplish just something small and maybe that will bring back the modivation.

Been there, done that. Hit a few brick walls, lost motivation. Took a few steps back and relaxed for a bit. Then and after a short time I got the urge and started working on it.

I just took a 6 year break. Almost sold my car I was so frustrated with it. I found a couple of sites that got me sparked and went and took inventory of what I had and then started my EFI conversion.

finding your mustang mojo

Yes I am there now also and it not so much about motivation. It is more about not being able to decide what to do and sticking with it. Right now I am trying to get started again by doing something simple, finishing my 9 inch rear end. Then comes my next challenge the front suspension. It is a good problem that is I have too many choices. fd

The only time, and I mean only time I lost mojo was when my new engine grenaded in Iowa. I let it set a full week before I touched it again.

I'm in the same boat right now, thats why I joined. Looking at my car makes me want to :barf

People tell me to stick it out... but after waiting for 2.5 years, I'm not so sure I have the patience anymore.

If it makes you feel any better, took me about 5 years to do mine.

But when you get to do this:

It's all worth it!

Your problem is you have too many projects going on at once. I've worked 2 cars simultaneously before and it drove me nuts. It seemed that I was spinning my wheels as nothing was getting accomplished in the time frame I had envisioned.

Here's some free advice to hopefully get your mojo back.

1. Determine which of the 4 (holy crap!) cars that you really want done first. Not which one is easiest or cheapest, but the one that you're not going to rest until it is 100% done.

2. Prioritize the remaining 3 cars using the same criteria.

In my case I had a 67 plane jane Coupe that I had fresh out of paint and 75% assembled. Along came a rust-free 68 FB that I REALLY wanted to get done, but it needed a full strip, paint and rebuild. I pushed the Coupe off to the side and didn't touch it until the FB was done. As soon as the FB was done I jumped back over to the Coupe.

3. Set self-imposed realistic deadlines for yourself as you approach each car. Literally write down on a cheap calendar the dates when you want certain stages of the car done and do your best to stick to it. You don't have to go into a lot of detail writing it out, just brief notes on the different stages... e.g., car stripped by 15 January, back from media blaster by 15 Feb, body work done by 1 April, out of paint by 15 May, suspension done by 1 June, etc., etc., etc. Having these deadlines will keep you focused on the project. You may slide on a few of the deadlines, but you may catch up on other ones. In the end it will keep you busy working towards your goal.

When working on any project it's always best to have a defined plan and stick to it! Saying to yourself "I want to make an Eleanor clone out of this FB" is not enough of a plan to get the job done. Define the plan into stages, set dates and work towards that goal.

Good luck!

Exactly! Pick one, and go gonzo on it until it's done. May take a few years, be spreading your efforts over 4 machines means you dont get to see meaningful progress on any of them.

How do I know? I got 3...

I haven't touched my coupe since 2006. Come spring, I need to get back on it. I want to get all of the welding done before the billion degree weather sets in. Torque boxes, floor, one 1/4 panel is all that needs done as for welding. Then I can start on the fun part, paint prep....

that happens a lot lately, but then I fire one up and drive it. All of a sudden, I don't want to sell either car and find the funds to do something.

today I spoke to a good friend in FL and told him I was thinking of selling the 65. He talked me out of it. Basically he said if you sell now, it would be selling low and later when you wanted one again, you wouldn't be able to afford it as the prices would be on the higher end. He advised to tough it out and even if I didn't work on them, just hang on and when things turn around, then finish them up and watch the value go up!

So, I have the two cars and until I get some extra money for parts, they will just wait!

PS. If your mojo is too low, I am sure I can find the cash for another FB. I could use the coupe as a donor car. :lol :lol MH

We all have been there and for different reasons i think.
For you personnelly , i do too think you have too many projects.IMHO.
The lack of sunshine can keep moral down.
We haven't the nicest climate here in Europe , don't we GT350 ?

The reason I am not doing anything on my car is not lack of motivation it's lack of funds.
Doing all I can to stay afloat and keep the car.
Decision time is coming soon. Got my fingers crossed about 2010.
