Lecarra hub vs turn signal switch

Lecarra hub 2 and turn signal switch 0

I've replaced my stock steering wheel with a Moto Lita wheel recently, and now it's driving me to be come a raging alcoholic. When driving I noticed that the left signal cancels properly, but the the right signal cancels almost immediately when turning the wheel. On turn signal switch #1, I was starting to see what the issue is when the end of the turn signal switch broke off (the one that worked properly). I figured that I did something wrong, so I replaced it last weekend. This week the new switch acted the same as the first. So, this weekend's task was to take a look at it again, and try not to break it. But driving to work this morning, my left turn signal does not cancel...switch #2 shot to hell.

Any ideas of what's causing this to break? Should I even attempt to get #3 or should I just drive around with my left blinker on and yell at kid to get off my yard??

thanks

It would seem the only way to adjust the canceling so that it is consistent in either direction would be to reclock the hub to the column shaft or reclock the column to the dash a couple of degrees ( not sure if that's even possible ).

I'm curious if the breakage is on the side that trips with the slightest touch of the wheel. Perhaps it is just close enough to bind when you engage the signal and slight movement of the wheel in the opposite direction is stressing the cancelling arm.... Normally when going straight, you should have a few degrees of movement before the wheel even gets close to the cancelling mechanism.

The sad part is that the side that broke was the good side, not the one that was cancelling early...

I have the exact same setup - Motolita wheel/Lecarra mount. Here's a pic if it helps for those trying to answer. As you can see on the backside of the adapter there is smooth copper for the horn button contact to rub on but there is no hole in the adapter for the spring loaded? 'button' to slip into like on the backside of the stock wheel. Did you drill a dimple or hole for that pin to lock into?

My thought is that you would need a hole or dimple for that to lock to so that it functions as the stock one did. Here is a thread I started, discussing the clocking of the hole to the adapter. Some replies say that it self adjusts for turnsignals but that's with the stock wheel and the hole is always in the same place on the back of the wheel. That's why I asked what the location of the hole on the stock wheel was to mimick it on my Lecarra adapter. Unfortunately my cars not running yet after 4yrs. so turnsignals are at the bottom of the list.

Craig posted his prior pics/troubles within my post, here it is and he points out the 'pin' I'm talking about.

The turn signal switch looks a lot different between your 67 and my 66. I don't have a spring loaded button on my switch.
