Kick panel speakers and vintage air vents are giving us a problem it seems the only way we can get the panels to fit would require lots of cutting, does anyone know of a brand that will fit with the vintage air ac vents without any cutting. sorry i cant get pics stang is at my uncles and i dont have time to get out there and he doesnt have a digital camera but once we figure this mess out and get the a/c compressor fixed ill be able to post pics of the new motor a/c and interior work

Are you trying to use the little round vents in the ABS pods that come with the sure fit system? And how are they supposed to mount to the dash (or kick panel)?

When building my son's '68 we used kick panel speakers and I wasn't too thrilled with using the kit supplied side vents. To avoid any interference issues.... and to just make it "look better", I decided to use factory AC side vents. This was not a cheap alternative, but IMO it was the best way forward.

thanks i may just end up buying some factory vents in the future so i can get use the kick panel speakers but for now im just going to scrap using the kick panel speakers and just work on getting the car back on the road

I had to cut mine when I installed the speaker kick panels. It looked like the dealer (I think it was Virgina Classic Mustang) had cut them to fit a 67 convertible from some type of stock panel, and didn't do a very accurate job. Fortunately, they cut them too big. I just cut very sparingly, opting to cut too little rather than too much, until they fit.

They look great, no one could ever tell that I had to cut the panels.
