Inner Rocker Repairs

The linked photos are of my inner rocker panels after media blasting, both sides top and bottom. I am planning to do full replacements on both sides but in looking at them more closely, I'm wondering if there are less drastic options.

I know it's hard to tell with black primer but the top and interior sides are solid the whole length. The bottoms and the plate sandwiched between the inner and outer are rotted at the front (12-16" from the torque boxes) and at the very back. Opinions? Thanks.

No, they are both getting replaced.

I guess I'd evaluate the rockers again after the torque boxes get cut out. Sectioning them might be an option but rust never sleeps. If you're going in, you might as well put new rockers in while the boxes are out.

It looks to me more like the floor pans are rotted out where they bend up to the rockers than the rockers are rotted out. I'd first try and patch a floor pan where you think the rockers are bad and once the old floor pan is out, you'll really be able to evaluate the rockers. The outside portion of the rockers look reasonably good.

It may be hard to see in the pictures but in the area behind both front torque boxes where the floor is gone, the bottom of the inner rocker is gone as well. If you're talking about the outer rocker panels, I agree, they look good and will probably live.

Full replacements are looking more likely.

Had that same issue on a 67 cvt. The floors were excellent, perhaps owing to a heavy undercoating. Sold car to a friend who did the rocker, torque box repairs. He knew what he was getting
