Identify these brackets please

A buddy of mine has a 65 Fastback that he has been putting together for several years and he is getting close to finishing. He has two brackets that probably attach in the engine compartment but, he isn't sure where. He tells me that the triangular one is not the one that attaches to the top rear of the intake manifold as he already has a similar one there. The bulk of my underhood knowledge is in the '67 and '68 world so these are not entirely familiar to me. So, I put to you '65-'66 experts: What are they, and where do they go? The car has a 289, C4 automatic, and power steering (Eaton pump).

Bigga pics? uh....never mind. I just clicked on the ones up in the gallery. I don't recognize them brackets.
 
I'm with craig...(YIKES...never thought I'd ever mutter those words)...neither one of those brackets look familiar. Could the bent one be for the backside of the power steering pump?
 
They look like alternator or air conditioner braces...maybe.....not sure of the year though......
 
Ah hah! How about muffler bearing stabilizer brackets, exclusively for mid 63 Mustangs? :bowdown
 
Found the answer Jeff! They are part of the bracket set up for the P/S pump (specifically the Eaton). The triangle shaped piece bolts to the water pump. The short side will be at the top with the bolt hole on the left (looking at the bracket) and the lower bolt (at the "long end" of the triangle) attaching to the left side of the water pump using the short water pump bolt at the top and the long one just below it. The other brace goes between the remaining hole of the triangle and over to the front of the P/S pump. The closed bolt hole is at the triangle brace and the "notched" bolt hole goes under the P/S pump bolt at about 12 o'clock on the pump housing.

If that description turns out to be clear as mud, I'll try to post some pics. If you have access to Bob Mannel's "Mustang & Ford Samll Block V*" book, the pics are on page 5-49. Hope that helps.

p.s. It's ironic because a friend and I were just talking about these braces the other night!!
 
You're quit welcome! As they say, timing is everything. If I hadn't recently been talking about them with a friend, I wouldn't have known what the hell they were either!!
