I have Air!!!

I purchased the Classic Auto Air "Engine Compartment Upgrade Kit" and been installing it the past few days. Today had it charged by a friend and now I have Air, COLD AIR :pbj
The cruise this evening, (although not hot, hot), was very enjoyable (I'm getting old)with the inside of the car cool and somewhat quiet. The stop for few cold drinks next to the lake made everything just perfect.
It's nice driving the classic Mustang with the windows down and wind blowing your hair, it's even nicer with cold air blowing in your face.

Awesome!

I took my car out for a ride today, first time in 17 years I've driven it in summer with the windows up and was comfortable. A/c is definitely worth the hassle.

My car originally had AC so everything was there. I just upgraded all the components in the engine compartment so it wasn't to muck work, just some $$$. But it is well worth the cost.
Craig, I'm not sure if Tara is gonna like that a whole lot. I probably will have a empty front seat though.

actually she may be riding with you! she wants me to add AC real bad. Just don't see AC a practical option with the 429. Anyway, glad yours is working, that may ensure that you will go!

Yeah you do have lot of motor on your car and not much room for AC. She'll be more than welcome if the seat is empty, someone to take some pic's for me. The ac was on my list of things I wanted done no matter what but it will make the Long Haul more enjoyable. One thing I do want is a different rear gear 3.50 now, I'd like to go at least 3.0. The more I'm driving it this summer the better I feel about it's reliability. It should be reliable almost everything on it is new.

I know how you feel. I have had a few gear ratio's but this year ran a 2.50 ish and got as good as 18 mpg and averaged about 14. Also took me a lot of shorter hops before I was comfortable doing longer runs. The first long haul I was still pretty nervous and every little noise or bump (real or imagined) made think something bad was going to happen. We have now done two long hauls and numerous shorter but still couple hundred mile journeys without any major issues.
As for AC on mine, I have no room for more groove pulleys and a condenser in front of the rad unless I do something radical

I really don't think it cold air and you sure don't want it blowing through your hair. Well I don't want it near my hair.

Are you home yet?
Got home this morning! 2.5 hours to fly from Jeddah to Dubai, 14.5 hours to fly from Dubai to Atlanta and 1 hour to Nashville. Jeddah was 8 hours ahead of CST. Long day, jet lag and internal clock is all screwed up but I'm home!

yep, and I have to leave for St Paul when I get back from my front-end alignment in the morning! Won't get back home until Sunday. Sometime this job really sucks!
