Put my new headliner in tonight, took about 5 hours but it went well. Not as hard as I thought it would be. On to the glass install next. I have thoughts of doing it myself, have any of you every done this? The youtube videos I have seen make it look... well HARD TO DO! should I try this or should I fork out the cash and pay to have it done??? Thanks for the input.

Though I have never installed Mustang front or rear glass before, all the glass guys I know have preached that Fords leak big time, so you need to use a lot of extra caulking. So if you do it, don't scrimp on materials.

I had a glass shop do mine they did not charge very much for the install as I bought a new windshield. I am sure it will leak and they will be doing it over.

They did not use enough sealer and I asked the installer about it, he told me that these old car windows always leak. I talked to the owner of the shop and told her what the installer said. She said that they would reinstall it if it did leak.

Using a rope it looks like a pretty easy install.

I was told that there are different seals and make sure you get the good one. I bought the seals myself from a local Mustang supply house.

part of the reason they leak so bad is poor quality rubber gaskets that are on the market now. they are about 3 times the price, but the gaskets from steele rubber blow the rest out of the water when it comes to fit & quality & are all i will use on my cars. when i was installing glass, i used to have more "discussions" with my boss over him sending us out & expecting us to do a good job with substandard (crap) gaskets...
