How do I...

How do I remove the little clips that hold on my MUSTANG pin letters on my deck lid? Have new letters and clips but do not know how to remove the old ones. Want to replace them to make sure letters do not have any loose motion but do not want to damage the deck lid. :shrug

Use dental floss and get it behind the letters and pull the existing letters out of the barrel nuts. Guaranteed not to scratch the paint!

Got the letters off, did not use dental floss and did scratch paint. I need to know how to get the retaining clips out?

You need to ask Del65 looks like his came out clean :yah

You need to develop a group of NorCal buddies who can remove when you're not looking just to give you grief. Yes ask Del65. :yah

But seriously, I believe they are just push in plastic barrel nuts which you should be able to pull them out via a small jewelers flat head screwdriver (prying them out). Fine tweezers? Maybe someone with lots of experience will chime in.

My originals are spring steel. One came out with the letters, but getting the rest out looks like a tough task w/o killing paint.
