Hood Lock

Does anyone have any idea or recommendations for a hook lock, im not interested in hood pins and not a fan of the gun type lock. Im looking for something more permanent, Any ideas?

Hook Lock

Yes I do, but my pics of it are on my other computer. It is very simple to do. I am sure that the lock part has a name, but it escapes me right now. Basically a desk drawer lock. Like this:

You have to drill a hole in the latch mount part of the hood, the lock prevents the latch lever from being pushed up and releasing the hood. When I get to my puter I will modify this post with a pic of it.

Here is the pic that I took of the hood lock at Knott's 8 years ago. I do not see why this would not work on a 69. Just make sure that the lock you get has a threaded barrel and not the clip in the sample pic that I used. The fun part will be drilling a hole with a "notch" in it to prevent it from spinning. You Probably do not have to fab the notch, unless you are anal like me.

I believe we meant hood lock? I've had this item on my list of things to do and might knock it out this next week. I know this works on 67 and 68's. Will it also work on a 69?

That is Jess Cook's car. AFAIK he is the first one to figure out the cabinet lock solution to underhood security.

As Dave Sanborn accurately put it some time ago, 69's have a plastic grill that someone can just kick in and then loosen the hood latch, thereby defeating a locking latch mechanism.
