home grown rally pac

We got a new 3D plastic printer at work for prototyping plastic parts. I am going to see if I can get this printed up next week:

It is my version of the rally pac, but made to fit new autometer gauges. I'm planning a tach and oil pressure:

We'll see if it happens, it isn't printed yet... It is a new machine, so I am trying to get it done with another job (under the radar)...
 
My son's school has one of those 3D printers too... pretty cool tool. Are you planning to use it do develop a mold or use the actual printed piece?

That turned out great. How durable is that material? I realize for it's intended use it will not see much in the way of abuse. Just curious if it is like a typical plastic piece or more delicate.
 
Plastic is ABS, so no strength issue, it is pretty solid, can't really get it to twist by hand...

Here is is with the gauges in place and as it sits on the column, I think it is gonna work well.

Do you think you might be making a few, and if so how much do you think you will charge for them?

I am needing one, but don't really have the $400-500 to buy a real one, or aftermarket.

But, I do have the money to buy an el cheapo small tach, and other gauge.

Here is a tach on Summit that has the same kind of face as the original. I have a white face cover that I scanned from an original so I could provide some copies if anyone wanted the face to look exact.

I'm sure you saw this one coming. I would assume mass production could never happen (seeing as how you made your own covertly) but if you could squeeze out another it might make for a fun Stangfix auction piece. Some of the proceeds going to help pay the site overhead. Just a thought...
