Help with some trunk hinges!!!

Hey all, I bought what i was told were some trunk hinges for a '65 fastback stang project I'm working on and when I tried to install the original hinges with the original trunk they were 2 major issues:

1st the single spring was 2" shorter at 40" instead of the measurement of 42" between the mounting brackets at the trunk???

2nd the trunk was sticking 2 1/2" father back on the trunk lip than normal??

I have adjusted all i can and these do not even come close to fitting. Can someone please measure the distance between you spring to confirm what I think sould be 42"

Also and guess's what year or model Ford takes these bigger hinges with the shorter spring???

Thanks for all your assistance!!

I'm gonna have to guess that you have the wrong hinges.
Any pics?

Yes a pic or two of these hinges would be helpful.

See pic!
The top hinge is off a 65 / 66 fastback. I know it works.
Middle hinge is shaped like the bottom and when installed do not fit as the 65 / 66 in the picture.

What the heck do the middle and bottom ones they fit or come off of??

the green one looks like a 67 FB hinge, the middle might be a 68. I don't think the 68's had the torsion bar like the 67.

Thanks for the imput, tarafied1!!

I kinda thought that, but all of them you find on the net are with a coil spring not the torsion bar? The torsion bar is short by 2" on my 65, does anyone have a 67 to measure between their trunk hinges to confirm these would fit a 67?

I would like to resale, but I refuse to screw (wanna make sure what they fit) the next guy who might buy these!!

the coil spring is the 68. The 67 still had the torsion bar. I don't have any FB stuff to measure, sorry.

Ask JeffTepper or KBMWRS to measure theirs. My 68 is of the coil spring and non of the above hinges look like what I have.

Here's Shags hinge

my 67 fastback hinges measure 38" apart, the rod is just over 39", looks like the bottom green one.

I agree with the 39, I miss read the tape a little. The middle one has the slot cut longer for the rod than a 65. SO I'm now going to try to sell as 67's. Any guess what they are worth?

Craig I cannot say if they are correct or not. :shrug I just went out in the shop and took a picture to try and help, It's a friends 67FB that he stores here, bought it that way after guy had redone it all.
