well I went ebaying and have recieved a majority of what I won..I lost out on some used fog light bars but got last second snagged..here are the pics and the questions

my car is a 65 and in the add the year wasn't stated and pic didnt really show the pig tail. after further inspection the fog light assemblies are Cz8 so 68. Even the pigtail has the CZ8 on it so I know they are 68. My question is they install into the fog bars but the blue plug of the pigtail doesnt fit through the hole I am sure I can just feed it through...My second thought was to just switch the pigtails to the correct 65 fog light assemblies pigtails. Will they look the same as the 65 fogs?

Don't need to get the blue through the hole in the housing. The two "c" clips got through and conenct to the bulb, the grommet presses in from behind.

Joey,
Based on these pics I'm not sure you'd have to change the wiring unless your blue connector doesn't match your wiring harness.
Also, just to be sure, you're looking for pictures of how the assembly attaches to the grill and the center emblem?

Let me know if you need something else. Not sure these are what you're looking for...

for some reason I thought yours was a 65..I must not have looked close enough. but thanks for the pics . they appear to be the same fog lights that I got just the different fog light housing pigtail. ...so to remedy it would be to get the 65 complete harness and switch....wonder if our local wire guy on here has some 65-6 pig tails he would be willing to trade.

I know the 66 has the bracket that connects onto the grill but I cant seem to find how the 65's are attached. I know there is a separate GT Grill vs non-GT grill...

I was thinking the housing are different beacuse every parts mag I have has the housings listed as the 65-67 and the 68's different so I was assuming that they are different.
I guess I need todo more research.

I'm not sure what the differences are, is it the chrome pot metal part that is different on a 65? Are you still concerned with the pigtail? Only thing I can see different on those is the amber bulbs, what am I missing?
I have some crappy 68 lights in my junk pile...

they are listed differently in all the parts books I have..65-67 and 68 seperately. The look bigger than the 65 ones also.in diameter. I could be wrong and over thinking it

Since you want to strip the chrome I would sell the NOS and get some repops that are the correct year and make some money on the deal. The repops have got to be cheaper than the NOS stuff you have.

IMHO!

off to VMF to try and sell them, then off to ebay..

mustangs unlimited:
has the housing only with the blue pigtail for 39.95 ea
the bezels at 18.95 ea
only one bulb was the FOG script with GE logo, but with out the script its the same price. 16.95 ea

and that is all for the re-pop 68 set-up

I wonder what I could sell them off for....I just used some eagle never dull on them and mothers metal polish to clean them up...they are looking better ..
