Yesterday i got my car back from the shop with tinted windows. I love the look. :coo Then later that night my smile turned upside down. I was backing her into the garage very close to my 68 fb so i get get the rest of my junk back in the garage and my passenger side fender wheel lip got scraped by the splash sheild on my 68 fb :hide. I looked it over right after it happend and about passed out. I have not looked at it since then. It made me sick. I could not even sleep that night. Took it down to the primer. Its a couple inches or so long right on the lip. Im still pretty PO'ed about it. The paint job is approx 20 years old. It would probably be hard to match. So most likely she will have to get completely repainted. I called Hagerty and filed a claim. They are suppose to call me back monday. Hopfully things will work out with Hagarty because i cant afford to get it repainted out of my pocket right now. I do plan on putting a cowl induction hood on her though if Hagarty comes through. I think that will look good.

You'd be surprised at how well a good shop get the new paint close to the existing color, within reason, if the paint is not faded. If it's only a couple of inches long at the center of the fender lip, it's far enough away from the door to loose the color within the fender. Don't feel as if you need to settle for a complete job just yet.

man i know how that feels.. what a sick to the stomach feeling.. :puke but on the other hand car looks totally awesome love the blue and the windows :10
