Got a new set of shoes

Holy fender gap, Batman! Is that just the camera angle or is the fender lip really 9" above the tire?
 
Its still up on jack stands:rolleyes:...lowered it some to make contact with floor to tighten lugs.
 
Yikes! The rule of thumb is that tire life is 5 years. 17 years? OMG!

If not seeing crazy seasonal weather changes and especially UV rays all day everyday (kept in a garage) tires can maintain a much longer realistic lifespan. I've still got the original fronts on my mustang which have to be 10 years old by now. Still just as soft as the day they went on.
 
As long as they stay soft, they are " allright" but I wouldn't go crazy with them . ( high speed , braking , cornering )
But they will rarely " explode " unless you ignore the vibration that occure due to loss of pieces of rubber.
 
The clearance on my front tires is well, I wouldn't call it clearance as much as they somehow don't rub. When I had to replace the back two the manufacture had ever so slightly changed the tread pattern so that the tire shoulder was a tad squarer then before. That resulted in the occasional rub for a bit. Upfront it could be worse. I'll keep what I got that works for now.
 
Agree on that. Same size tires does not translate to actually the same size.
