Happy days are here again!

I couldn't get 13mpg in my 66 even if I drove it like Craig!

And what drivetrain are you running?

351w
Engine Dyno sheet says 400 HP
t5 trans
3.55 rear
26 inch tall 275 40 17 tire on the back

2 days ago I got 10.....with a little driver tuning (aka I didn't touch a think other than change how I was driving the car) I saw a great improvement and moved the needle up to where I was hoping to see the MPG for this car.

How are you driving different?

1. I stopped using 5th a lot. I was using on the country highway puttering along between 50-60 depending on traffic and hills/curves. I drove that all the way through in 4th.
2. Holding 1, 2 and 3 longer.
3. Trying to drive by ear since the tach and speedo aint working yet....and I drove to hear the magic resonance that all mufflers seem to have. If I wasn't hearing it....I down shifted.

So you got better gas mileage by not using 5th so much? Was it because 5th was bogging down the motor?

Not to brag, but I got 24mpg with my 351w, T56, 3.00, and 25.6" 315 tires but that was strictly highway. My windsor isn't much of a powerhouse though.

Sounds like about what I get. My 331-powered fastback will do 15.5mpg with pure freeway driving @ 70mph. That's with 3.25:1 gears, 24.5" tall tires, and a close ratio toploader.

I drive faster than 70 most of the time :roll

Its a killer commute and I like to pass people....I can't stand looking at the same 3 cars for mile after mile ;)
