Fuel line

So I've been having a problem with clogged fuel filters found my tank was time to be changed, had some nice rust in there. so tonight I replaced it with a new one. Now I want to change the fuel lines with some AN SS tubing. Now my question is what size should I go with I have a 15 foot of -4, but I think it's too small. I have a 302 40 over , afr heads , big cam roller motor. Should I be puttin in -6 or even 8?

Not sure of the size equivalent, but I'd think whatever is equal to 3/8" should work fine. My fuel line is 3/8".

I read an article on fuel systems recently and if memory serves me (which it may not, ) the article said that whatever size the fuel line outlet on your tank is that is the maximum flow you will get. 5/16 is what I remember the article said.

It would only make sense. Why use a 3/8 line if your sending unit is 5/16.

Good point I was looking over everything today and its only 1/4 npt going to fuel pump anyway so -5 would be 5/16s

So I was looking through jegs catalog and only see -4 and -6 no -5 which means either 1/4" ss tubing or use 3/8s any suggestions I already have the 1/4" tubing do you think it will starve the motor for fuel?

Oh, Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, he linked to the "other" site.

Ah yes I ordered -6, thanks for the link even tho its frowned upon. Ill let ya know how it goes It should be easy. Hardest part I think is running lines through fender.

Actually, nobody cares about linking to the VMF or any other site! It's just me being a smart ass.
