Well Santa came early this year and the Princess got her new Holden SS Commodore yesterday.
Hard to believe how far forward new cars have come in 5 years since our last one.
Absolutely unbelievable power out of the big 6.0l Chev and looks quite pretty sitting out on the lawn with Frankenstang.
We head off to the sons on Boxing Day so a nice 1600km cruise should run it in well.

I bet that is a blast to drive, 6.0 litre should scream in it, looks like BMW to me. I would scare the wife to death in that!

Nice car. Pontiac G8 here before they axed the brand. I heard that they are rereleasing it as a Chevelle here in the states.

270kw=362HP!

This one is 260kW.
There is a factory upgrade to 317kw i might look at later.
It has the Active fuel management that lets it drop to 4 cylinders on the highway and run on E85 ethanol, which they are making here from Sorghum.
Havent tried that yet as we only have used 1/2 a tank of 95 unleaded.
We put another 200km's on it yesterday and got 5.3l/100km's on cruise and then got the trip computer to 99l/100km blowing a fart can away at the traffic lights.
I dont think the 245/45x18 back tyres will last long.
I will run it on 98 on our trip to Cairns as the highway will be teeming with cops so speedlimit cruising will be the go (except for the 160km Marlborough stretch through barren scrub).

I hope they do as it is a great car.
The Camaro is built on the commodore platform and it would make sense to have something like this as the four door version.
These are available here from 195kw V6 up to the 317kW Clubsport.
The bigger bodied Caprice is now selling in the US as the cop car replacement for the Crown Victoria.
I heard they have orders for 75000.
The Commodore, Falcon, Camaro & Mustang are what we should have for our world cars, thats 2 doors, 4 doors & Wagons covered.

Not sure but I think the CTS is built on that platform too. Sure see alot of similarities chassis wise.

I just met a Major with the Texas DPS while on vacation. They are buying a bunch of the Caprices.

They should be happy with them.
We went for a run up the Blackall Range yesterday and tried out the sports suspension.
Very impressive, it stuck like shit to a babys blanket through the twisty bit, then for a bonus we blew off a couple of "Devils Undies" on Harleys.
Now to figure out how to bypass the Bi-Modal exhaust, its too quiet!
