Battery is poo and the carb is leaking out the accelerator pump. Going to try and get a pump tomorrow and charging the battery tonight. It was so close to running but the lack of fuel and dead battery choked it off. Once it runs, I am stripping the paint off and detailing it up as a 64.5 260 look-alike. Just got to figure out how to hide the duraspark wiring :steer

Installing it as soon as I get it to run once and detail it up(converting it back from the fox body setup). Figure one less engine and 5 speed laying around will give me more room to work on the car. I do plan on rebuilding the carb but feel it is a waste to rebuild it for a 30 second run and then let it sit till the car is road ready.

Nice going! That is one thing that I have never done is fire up an engine out of car. I do remember you from way back in the days of the good 'ol vmf, first time I remember seeing a pic of you however. Thought you would be taller. :sarc
So is it a "D" code but you are using a 289?

F code 260 car. I'm using the 289 because it is rebuilt, well re-ringed about 10 years ago. The original 260 is in the garage but needs a rebuild and who knows how much more. The front timing cover rotted through into the oil, which I'm guessing it was took the Rustang off the road in 1982ish, or atleast that was the parking sticker for a college's date that was on the car. Sooner or later I'll rebuild the 260 and stick it in the car again but the 5 speed will be staying with it, which means more work down the road to get the 6 bolt 5 speed mated to the 5 bolt 260. I plan on getting the car running and then working the body. I need room to do work and the engine, transmission, and all the other steering parts are a PITA and in my way. Once they are on the car I will have much more room for working on the car.
