- Well.. over 2-1/2 years ago I bought this 65 vert shell. The drive to get in Ohio was almost exactly 24 hours long. Although I doesn't need paint, I did take every nut and bolt off of it and replaced it. I've done almost all the work myself.. even taught myself to weld because I got tired of paying others to do the work.
It's running a 331 EFI mill, a T5z transmission, and a 9" rear with 3.89 gear w/truetrac.
Today is the first day that it's driven more than 30 feet from my house. I drove it around the neighborhood and since it only had a temporary exhaust, I'm sure I scared a few people in the process. I took my little 6 year old with me (my future motorhead).. I think I've got him hooked!!
Other than the temporary exhaust rattling like there's no tomorrow, everything went well.
I pretty much need three more things:
- The hood painted to match the rest of the car (obviously)
- An alignment
- The exhaust system completed
All in all, its looking pretty good. Its far from a show car, but it'll do me just fine since I plan to drive it quite a bit.
The exterior:
Those are driving lights not fog lights.
Interior:
Those are Fiero seats with the covers made to match the 65:
I installed 4pt. harness for the rear:
Autometer American Muscle gauges and Lecarra steering wheel and hub. Notice my custom radio delete plate:
2.5 lbs. Fire extinguisher mounted in below the front seat:
Hopefully, I'll be getting her finished up in January.
