First drive to work in the Mustang!

Yep, I've reached a milestone. Only took 6 months to get to this point, but today, the Saleen made it's first 25 mile trip to work...
Supposed to be sunny and 70* this afternoon, so why not?

It rides like a stiffly sprung 20 year-old hot rod. Definitely not "forgiving". I'm still at the stage where I'm hearing, feeling, and smelling everything, but didn't find much to be too concerned with. Getting some driveline vibration at excessive speeds and a few rattles, but the motor feels and sounds strong.

Now, for the drive home later in traffic... :steer

Pictures later, after we get some daylight... :rulz

I leave home at 5:15 every morning - get out at 2:30 that way! :yah

But I get the good parking spot because I'm "da boss"... :kneel

Congrats, Car looks great out there. I know that ultra sensitive feeling the first few drives when all your senses are at their peak! That will relax soon enough.

WTG Bob!!

That car is SHINEY
Yep, the body & paint were definitely the best part about this car. The mechanical stuff was &*^%(. I just keep chipping away at the issues. This week, I fixed the power mirrors, got the cruise control working, replaced the horn, and repaired the under-hood light (wiring damaged in 3 places!). After changing the valvecover gaskets, PCV valve / screen and oil drainplug washers, it looks like I've got most of the Exxon Valdez issues fixed too. I THINK the next major challenge is finding out what's up with the air conditioning... If it's too expensive, I'll just do without for now. :no

Been having a LOT of fun at the local pick n' pull. With some careful shopping, I can at least FIND parts for this one cheap. Recent example - the power mirror switch runs $62 new and $25+ on Ebay, but a PERFECT switch out of a wrecked 35k mile Lincoln MK7 cost me 99 cents at PnP... :yah

We have soccer & football games (double header for FB) on Satuday mornings. But I get off at noon on Fridays. Maybe I can swing something then...!

Fordrule is not allowed in Kansas anymore, don't ask. :shee
That's why he'll have to drool from St. Louis it's as close as the court orders allow.

Car looks awesome Bob.

I don't wanna be a " party pooper" or something like this ( can't find the right words ) but.......

I would first tackle that vibration in your driveline at higher rpm's .
It can be very dangerous when the drive shaft breaks at the joints !!!! :steer :steer
Be safe and tackle this right away !! Its all about safety first !!!
