He might have been there, it is his hunting lodge near Ellisville Il. (pop. less than 200) it is located on a rural gravel road kind of in the middle of nowhere. It is still pretty neat and you know someone with money lives there judging from the miles of cedar log fence and the gated entrance that says Lodge 25 (his jersey # at sometime?)- there were a lot of cars parked by the home and I was not going to stop and stare but last week was first season of shotgun deer season and he and some friends usually go. Kind of neat to be close to a sports celebrities getaway (less than 20 miles). He mentioned once in a sports illustrated interview that his favorite place for breakfast was "Fairview Cafe" located in a little town about 10 miles away. He gave a signed baseball and batting glove to display there and some low-life stole it so he gave the owner another and it is displayed high on the wall!

uhhhhhhhhhhh......who is this Jim Thomes individual?
I guess Kalifornia really is another country---contrary to many Californians belief there is baseball east of the Rockies--ever hear of the Yankees??--lol--Jim Thome is still playing at 40 plus, he once signed a contract with Philadelphia for 85 million,he has hit over 600 homers, I have to admit I have loosely followed his career because he is almost local---(Peoria area--35 miles from me) google him--good reading---

He is what you want every major league player to be. Class act all the way. His best years were as a Cleveland Indian but he was also a big contributor to my favorite club the White Sox. The guy is loved where ever he goes. Native of my home town, Peoria, IL.
