That one looks SWEEEET!

Having learned to drive stick in a '72 F100 Sport Custom I was always partial to the early to mid 70's models. When the '78 came out I thought they were fugly! I have long since learned the error of my ways and love them! I even (still) have a sales brochure for '79 my dad picked up at the dealership!

Worked for a old style gas station ( when they did auto repair) in college. The shop truck was a dark blue one just like that - 300 six, 4 speed, but 2WD. One day, the owner told me to take an engine to his brothers shop. I'd never driven a manual before, but I learned fast. Thankfully, the clutch was pretty loose, so easy to learn -

think it's worth $4500?
That is what he's asking. Paint looks really good and no obvious rust or bondo. It's really straight.

I wish it was an extended cab, I would replace my 01 F150 with it! I need a truck to pull my camper but need room for the boys too. I have been thinking about what to get as a DD driver if I take the new job and have to give up my company car. This might be cool.

I had one that was passed around between a bunch of my friends. I was recently parted out. May the rebel warrior rest in peace!

Anyway, we put a 460 in it with chrome headers running along the outside of the frame rails, a 79 cab to get the gas tank out of the cab and give us more leg room, we added AC from a lincoln, (brrrr) and a 44 gallon fuel tank where the spare should have been. The bumper was customa nd weighs 300# and will find it's way to my current truch as soon as I can get it home from CA.

Anyway, this one looks great. They are great trucks and the 300 is a good engine. It would make a fine DD.

Oh, and long beds rule! I have had one short bed in my life and never again! It seems I never need a long bed until I don't have one!

I used to have a 79 F250 4x4 with a 400 and I bought a 79 2wd with a 460. I pulled the 460 and tilt steering and a bunch of other stuff for the 4x4. It had 33" Super Swampers and would go about anywhere. It was a long bed too. I miss that truck.
here is a picture of it
