Cleaning underneath the car?

Tomorrow I'm going to do a general cleanup of the underside of my car, and I was wondering if anyone has some input about this process?
I've got Purple Power, a pressure washer, and some deck brushes. Does anyone have a tip I should know? Also, after the underside is cleaned, then what the heck do I do to protect it?

Also you may want to try a product called 'Awesome'. Its in the dollar stores and will clean anything...oil, grease is simple.

After depending on your state of finished product..concours? resto?....

Me I just can sprayed with the red oxide primer or flat black.

That Awesome is real good.....and cheap....you are supposed to mix it 50/50 with water. I use it straight for tough jobs and it has always surprised me. I switched from simple green to it.....just gotta share with the better half too.

If I recall correctly, we replaced my floor pans then cleaned up whatever else was left.

Painted all the new / old metal then eventually put a coat of under coat on it.

I bought undercoating today in hopes that it will quiet things down a bit....she's a bit loud at times!

Something like dynomat under the carpet on the inside of the car would help that a lot.

Though we are getting a little off course with this thread, I would do a lot more than just Dynomat which was designed mainly for vibration sound deadening. If you want to help cut down exhaust and heat, install a good high density sounding deadening matt or at worst case lots of underlayment on top of the Dynomat or second skin or whatever.

Yes I also like the Awesome stuff since it was obviously named after me :bowdown

The name of the product is A W E S O M E .......not Idiot in a green mankini..........

Ouch Nick, sounds like you need to take a nap.

As we continue with the original subject, today I used some awesome on the engine bay of a 70 boss 302 that I"m working on. It really helped clean it up big time.
