For those familiar, it works like FaceBook chat.
To make yourself "availalble" click the little dot all the way to the right (next to the down arrow) on the chat bar below. A little popup will show 4 statuses. Click "Available" and off you go!
The only people you will see in your "Who's online" list will be your "Buddies" on the board. If you're like me and only have a few buddies, you won't be able to chat much until you add some buddies.
This is not a "chat room" but rather person-to-person private conversation. So now when sluggo is online, I can chat with him. This augments the private message function, but is shorter, and allows a give and take conversation, as opposed to long emails.

I've tried to change my status to available, but nothing happens. If I log out and then back in, it still says unavailable. That's after clearing the cache too.

What are all the icons to the left of the page on the same bar? Share, translate, etc. Is the translate function gonna help me understand when Jack talks politics or Steve talks computers? Will it decipher Mel on drugs?
