Certain paint colors = less visible to other drivers

I find motorcycles to be the most difficult to see.

That is, unless there is a nice looking, barely clothed, young lady sitting on the back. In that case, it is hard to take my eyes off of her...er...it.

Did I ever say I hate RVs?

Most of the people driving them have no idea how to drive large vehicles. Try 42000# and some butt head in an RV is driving 20 mph below the limit....or that same knucklehead decides he doesn't want to be behind a bus and pulls in front of me and drives 20 MPH slower than the flow of traffic.

Is it that these people don't have the power to drive the speed limit or are they just scared?

If they are scared they should park the RV.

Most of them seem to be from CA and think the speed limit is 55 while pulling a trailer in every state.

Sigh...

I mean no disrespect, but you have no idea how many RVs almost became scrap metal this summer from being stupid!

Last I checked, the RV accident rate is really low....don't see many damaged.....it is the acres of wrecked cars left in their wake from dodging them that is the problem. And yes, if you cannot handle it, park it forever.

You should see some that come in here. One guy has a 5th wheel, pulls up to the spot and starts aiming somewhere behind him. His wife directs him from the wrong side too. He wiped out the space number post....this was after he dang near hit my parked '66. Took him 45 mins. to get parked. Most do it in 5 min. I sat and watched out the window. I learned real quick not to help....just protect my own.

I generally keep to 5 over the limit like most of traffic unless the limit is 70, in which case I keep to about 68-70. Can go faster, but can't afford to, as mpg drops really quick after that.

Isn't a silver car the reported reason James Dean Died? IF it was any other color maybe the other guy would have seen him. On a side note, silver is less ticketed by police then red (which statistically is targeted the most by police). And i've read that some experts say that the quickest recognized color to the human eye is yellow, :good not Gay Orange Or GO as its referred to here. Right J?:nk

In fact, there was a big thing here about yellow, a few years back regarding the NHL playoffs. Our goalie (Fleury) was wearing yellow pads, some experts alerted the Pens about the visibility aid to shooters, to make a long story short, he changed to white, and his goals against average was cut in half.

When I used to ride motorcycles, they were always yellow, if they were't yellow, I painted then yellow! and the reason was to be seen and my leathers were also yellow accented with a yellow helmet! (sportbikes). Our cars are all silver and I don't even like silver that much! lol CX9, Subaru Baja, and a '98 rav4. Right, people don't pay attention~ too many distractions these days! And what is the most important reason for accidents, or near accidents~ not paying attention!

In that link it looks like Dean's car was a right hand drive, but the reconstruction crew is assuming it was left hand drive. Am I wrong?

I remember another website showing a photo at the same date, same time with the sun blinding the driver, but I couldn't find it.

If the other driver was traveling eastbound at 5:45 PM the sun would have been behind him.

Thanks, Pete. That site did include the photos I remember. It was Dean who may have been blinded, plus his car may have been in the dip (and not seen) when Turnipseed began to turn left.
