Central Locking

Has anyone installed central locking on their 67-68 mustangs?

if so, how did you find it and what kit did you use?

By central locking I assume you mean Power Door Locks?

There are a few companies that piece together a pretty simple kit. You should be able to source kit through ebay/Mustang parts vendors. The kit install is usually pretty straightforward and usually involves mounting the electic actuators onto the stock door latch rod that's already in place to lock the door. Once the actuators are mounted in the door it's a simple matter of running the wiring through the door/A pillar joint and then supplying power and mounting your switches. Most aftermarket alarm systems have a feature that allows easy adaptation to control the lock operation through the alarm's key fob.

In my opinion, this is an option that's best accomplished after the car has been owned/operated for a while. After going through the daily rigors of a ground up build for a couple of years (read: you) and you've had a year or so to enjoy the car, you're going to miss working on the car and this is a simple project to accomplish during a few rainy/cold days in the winter months.

NPD sells the complete lock, but is a bit pricey. Electric Life attaches to your existing locks, which will save you some money. Rich.
