Car Cover

Does anybody have a car cover that they no longer need and would be willing to let go of? I moved the Mach 1 onto the slab on the other side of my house, but now it is in plain view of anybody and everybody, and a city worker is out to get us and gave us a ticket for having my 67 Mustang on the other side of the house in our lot when I started working on it. So I really need to get it covered up but I don't have the money to buy a car cover, and tarps are a pain to keep on and get on and off. So if anybody has a car cover they can part with please let me know. THANKS!

Sorry, but if you can't afford a car cover, you really have no business attempting to restore a vintage vehicle.

Really? Does everybody just have the money automatically just to throw into a car and have a finished product? Maybe some of us have to work to be able to restore a vintage vehicle. It is kind of tough to have a job when its football season. So back off man, if I could get a job I would.
 
Alright gtscode, i know you do work on your car, but I noticed in one of your threads you mentioned not ordering any parts for 2 years. Could this possibly be from lack of money/time?
 
I may have one, let me check. Actually had several of these. Beware if you have a nice finish on the car it will inflate, and flap with the wind and can leave dull spots. Gotta keep it tied down tight

Southernboy, let me give you a perspective some may or may not have. Don't take offense to this. Twice you've made mention of not having money. Once for an engine stand and once for the cover. You're also restoring a car which means you have to be spending money somewhere. Maybe I'm wrong and the cars are put on hold for a while but what we're seeing is you are "working on your cars yet have no money for inexpensive items in the grand scheme of restoring a car". Does this make sense? This may be confusing to some as we're thinking if money is so tight as you cannot afford a car cover or engine stand you definitely don't need to be spending any money on parts or restoration. Maybe our thoughts, which may certainly be misguided due to lack of understanding, are more along the lines of "there are other things that take priority over a Mustang" when it comes to finances.
 
We all have to remember that we're operating under different circumstances. Most of us are middle income earners with fairly decent paying jobs that allow for discrectionary spending, but some members aren't as fortunate.

As I remember Southern Boy is a HS student trying to juggle school (now to include football), life and getting an old Mustang running. There's nothing wrong with coming on here asking if anyone has an old car cover they can spare to help him out.

Putting the car under a cover in an "on-hold" status is probably a good idea given his particular circumstances.
 
Again, I'm not completely sure of his situation. Therefore, my perspective may be misguided and some clarification would be helpful.

They have been put on hold, no moneys been spent on anything lately.

Money is tight for most everyone right now. I have a car cover if you still need one. Not in the best of shape but better than nothing. Am in Cedar Hill near Joe Poole Lake.
 
I am just going to let this topic fade away, but if you are putting them away I think that is the best thing you can do, based on my limited understanding of the situation.

My Mustang days came at 30, trust me I wanted a fastback so bad in high school but studying and college were my top priorities and trust me it has paid off.
