can the fuel pump be installed upside down?

I was going to go buy a new fuel pump to try and elimate it as my problem and looking online it looks like the PO installed this one upside down.. Am I right??

The fuel pump looks like the right one, but the gold part with the fuel lines are on top...

That is how it is supposed to be.

You have a carb issue. You need to concentrate your efforts there.

Uh......what motor are you running. The fittings for both my 302 and cleveland are on the bottom of the fuel pump. Can a pump be installed upside down and kinda work?

Pictures I saw were of a V8 and mine's a 6... I mis-spoke.. It is right for the 200ci..

You can't mismount a mechanical fuelpump IMHO. :roll
