cam removal

can anybody help me with the cam removal?

I dont see anybolts or anything holding in the cam, do I have to hammer it out or do I pull on the bolt thats threaded in the front of the cam?

Once the thrust plate is removed, it will slide right out. I prefer using a 5" or 6" bolt. Gives you better leverage as you move it through the bearings.
 
Sometimes on engines that are crapped up, the cam journal will have a ring of crud around it, and it will take some work to get it out. As you're rebuilding it anyway, pop out the plug at the back of the block and tap on the end of the cam if necessary.

will a flathead screwdriver and hammer get the plug out the back?
 
It might, but there's not much room between it and the cam, so it might lodge itself in. What I've done is drill the cap, then screw a big honking metal screw in it. Grab screw head with a pry bar and pop, out it goes. To make it 100% sure you can get it, you could dislodge it with a hammer & punch before using the pry bar.
 
Drop the engine in a particular silverblue fb for a trip around the track. PRESTO! Cam removed, pushrods removed, lifters removed, etc.
