CAA installed!

Keep your fingers crossed! I finished the CAA install, took about 20 hours or so off and on.
Taking it tomorrow to get it filled. Hopefully I will have cold air by tomorrow nite! :roll

Congrats! I drove my car for many, many years, always swearing this would be the last summer without air. I finally got mine installed last fall at the 16 year mark or so.

Good luck with it. Hopefully the oil is at the correct level. There was a install timing thing with mine that allowed some of the oil to drain out....ended up costing me 15 more for oil, very critical from what the company told me when I complained...... The instructions had the caps removed from the compressor and then start installing the lines,,,,,from the fire wall forward. Meanwhile, the oil was dripping from the compressor due to its mounting position.

Hot diggidy dog! I got it charged up today and it is cold! I waited way too long to do this. SWMBO said she likes it...guess that's what counts...lol :wth
btw, it was $133 :shee

Whew, that was :shee

I paid $60 to get mine charged. All that was involved was hooking it up to the machine, vacuuming it out for about 45 minutes or so, and then adding the 1 or 1.5 lbs of refrigerant called for in the specs. All the pressures matched the specs when tested and it was done.

BTW, my intent is not to make you feel bad about paying more than I did, but to get the price out on this topic in case anybody else gets this done, they can see the price range and ask for a quote before they have it done.

Looking through some posts on the other site, seemed to run between $80 and $100 or so. Costs of this R134 is going up also, I hear. Still, the cold air definitely makes the :shee feel better anyway...lol :steer
On a funny note when I took swmbo for a ride this afternoon to "test it out" on her, I was driving merrily along and commenting how nice and cold it was blowing and after about 10 minutes realized the drivers side air vent was pulled open. I tried to reach down and sneak it shut and she asked what I was doing, uh nothing dear...got a laugh out of that one.

Dang, and I complained about $8 per can at Big Lots and $6 for a bottle of oil! :wth

I swear, AC shops in the south are a big racket though. I drove to Florida to help my Dad fix his roof and happened to stop at the AC shop up the street. They wanted $145 just to recharge! :hide Heck, here in the North, it's $89.95 all the time.

Edit: Bet that cold air sure is nice though! Ya can't beat riding around in a 40*F car on a 100*F day. :D
