Burned on Ebay

We'll see if the seller makes it right...

Bought a pair of NOS Ford ovals for the 86, since they are discontinued... The one on the car is 95%, but I figured one new one, plus a spare for $30 - why not?

Link to auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/380564972268?ss ... 1439.l2649

They arrived today, still wrapped in vintage newspaper. However, these look like crap, and have a different part # and rear post pattern than the auction pictures.

Here's one of the new emblems above my original emblem. ("New" emblem on top)

The pair of new ones - discolored/splotchy.

Like I said, we'll see how seller responds. I really don't think I'm being too picky, do you? :shrug

If the post pattern and part numbers are different, you have been scammed.

Did you pay with pay pal? They will refund your $ but you will have to ship them back on your $. Unfortunately that is how they work. It works out better if you never get the product.

Hope the buyer does you right and pays for your return shipping.

I've watched a bunch of parts in the past that the seller has listed. Never bought from him though. Sorry to hear of your troubles Bob. Hopefully he'll make it right.

BTW, I know you said the emblems were discontinued, but I guess you weren't aware NOS are available from NPD.

Per the ebay ad
Condition: New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging......

Sounds like a no brainer to even me :shrug

The NPD ones are the later 87-93 dark blue background. There's basically 2 choices available - the later dark blue with the correct studs on the back or use an earlier hatch emblem, which is the correct color but uses adhesive instead of studs. Foxresto.com explains it pretty well on their site, and offer both.
