Brake pedal support

Once it cools down here in the Sc sauna I will be replacing the pedal support and pedals in my 65. The only videos I could find one removed the steering column tube and instrument cluster and the other didn’t. Any tips or hints will be appreciated
 
I don't like scratching things up and forcing thing out and into place on a pedal hanger I always remove the steering wheel and column tube at a minimum to get to things easily. You can leave the instrument cluster in place as long as you can easily get to everything from underneath. If not, take it out by laying a towel on the painted dash so you don't scrape it up taking the wires off. Yes! Take the wires off and put it in the back seat or somewhere safe then you don't scratch something up pushing it out of the way while you are focusing on something else.
 
If I have to take the cluster out so be it but that will lead into another project…. Replacing the instrument bezel.. mine is probably 20 years old and it’s time to replace it I just do not remember how I trimmed it to get the aftermarket gauges to fit

I have a pedal support I put a mustangsteve roller bearing in, I just cant talk myself into swapping it in. I hate working under the dash.

I bought a brand new one from Harris mustang supply. I don’t drive the car enough to justify the roller bearing upgrade. Hell I don’t know if I drive it enough to justify the money for all new pedals and support and the associated little parts

I just get a big magnet off the toolbox, palm the bottom of the car until I find the nut, then just walk it over to the hole with the magnet. But, since the first time I took a seat out I learned to put a piece of tape, usually electrical tape, around the lip of the socket and fold half in and half out and then the socket kind of grabs the nuts.

Yeah... the nuts i had were SS and such a low carbon content.. not magnetic enough.. lol..

For me this falls under the "while I'm at it" category. Upgrading to a roller bearing set-up is very easy to do and really is a nice improvement. I'm a big one for doing stuff once especially on things that can be a PITA in the first place.
