It's VERY easy to let one thing turn into another.
If it's just the disc brake upgrade you're after, focus on that or before you know it the car will be off of the road for six years while you're doing a ground up rebuild.
This is exactly what happened to me. Decided to change to granada discs, one ball joint was bad so I replaced the uca, lca, 620 coils, sway bar links, perches, etc. $600 for the granada swap turned into a $1,500 "while I'm at it" kind of thing!
