Brake & Clutch Pedal Support..Is there a better one than stock

I have pulled out my brake&clutch pedal support. I will post pictures of the support and brake and clutch pedal. Is there anything that is better than the stock set up. I will be going with a centerforce set up. I have seen a topic on the better way to improve the old set up with roller bearings or something. It is for a 4sp car..

Well to start off with there is this thread:

i cut the original potmetal bushings out & opened up the holes to fit the bearings, checked alignment with the pedal & tacked them in place. they are 1/4" narrower than the stock bushings, so a small spacer will be in order on the outside & i will also add a sleeve between the bearings on the inside. if everything works well, it should be a cheaper alternative to the kits on the market now which i think run about $40.

I did a similar thing to my 67 Coupe except for the welding part the summer before I got my first digital camera. :hs So I do not have any pics of the repair. I did the same basic thing using pop rivets instead of welding them in. I may have spent 20 to 30 dollars on my repair, but my understanding is that there are companies that make a kit for a little more than my investment.

Keep in mind that in order to use the Scott Drake version you must have a nice clutch pedal shaft to work with, as that bearing kit uses the pedal shaft as the inner bearing race. The Mustang Steve roller kit as well as the above from sellerrodshop uses a sealed bearing that has its own inner race, so you can have a worn pedal shaft and still be able to use that kit.

Steve only tacks the bearing on in a couple places. He is local so i took mine to him and he did it while I was there. When you add in all the shipping your going to be paying it may be cheaper to get the bearing and have a local shop tack it on. Just a thought.
 
Good point, that $120 includes return shipping but you still have to get it to him.

The Scott Drake kit comes with a new pedal shaft:

i didn't realize that kit still required the plastic bushings as that was one of the reasons i wanted to convert mine & delete the "weak link" in the system. i guess with the roller bearings in place, it takes the pressure off the plastic.
