Didn't you own a car that color?Maybe that caliper is just having a physical reaction to the powder coat color choice you made!
Well have to wait and see in the morning.
The shop here is very nice. They do both body work and auto repair.
The alignment guy has the car ready and pulled the current specs. But doesn't want to start it this late in the day. It's there and will be knocked out first thing.

I am a bit bummed the caliper is leaking. I've been looking at some options.
Ordered new parking brake cables. The old ones were so tight they bent the clamps when activating the parking brake so the cables are rubbing on the tires.
Seems the 98 and earlier cars had cables that were an inch longer but had the same rear calipers. Got them on the way and may have to reroute the cables to reduce the tension.
I also have a couple easy (lol) parts to install. I have a full length radiator cover to install. It covers the area on top of the headlights too. The stock one only covers the grill/radiator area. That part generally removes the prop rod so I found a company (MRT) that offers a bolt on hood strut kit. They even offer them painted in factory colors. If you call they have a handful of preprinted ones on the shelf they'll give you for the normal black finish cost.
They oddly didn't have the 01 Bullitt paint code, but they had a set for an 01 with the 08 Bullitt paint code. 01 was more metallic and a bit lighter. Figured it'd be close enough to not notice the difference. I'm hoping these fit without issue, they did say certain camber plates may interfere.

Alright. Got the Bullitt back!
Installed the hood struts. Almost had a major issue. One of the studs that hold the hinge on stripped inside the hood and was just spinning.
Luckily there was enough space and the strut mount is slotted for that hole. Some wd40 and a padded mallet and it fell right into place.
The radiator cover fit ok. Had to Dremel the front holes to be able push the Christmas tree pins in.
Overall I think it looks nice.

Driven it around for a the last few days. Handles great, coilovers make it a bit bouncy, but the roads here are also terrible.
Also loaded up a fresh tune. Bama Tuning Aldo told me my X3 tuner is obsolete and may start to cause issues that they may not be able to help support. Bummer, but I had already kind of been thinking of getting a newer tuner.
Drove a friend out to pick up a similar car. 03 GT thats had an 01 Cobra 4v and IRS swapped in. I'm not a fan of the Cobra badges on the car, they haven't decided if they're keeping them on or not.

I'm gathering parts to mount the 03-04 Eaton M112 supercharger on my 2v engine. Found a decent deal on the blower itself along with the throttle body and inlet. Theres also a company that makes the required intake manifold it.
I had looked at Kenne Bell, but they recently discontinued their Bullitt kit and their customer service is terrible when adking about what the GT kit needs to fit. If it's this bad when I'm trying to hand them money, i can only imagine how bad it'll be after the purchase. Some online searching shows I'm not alone in that thought.
I know the Eaton M112 isn't the best supergizer out there. But the kit I'm looking at will allow me to run any blower designed for a 03-04 Cobra. The Eaton will work great until I get a built/forged rotating assembly. It should still put down around 380-400 rwhp. Maybe a bit more, and that'll be plenty for the street.
I'll still be online and posting shenanigans I imagine.

Pulled the trigger on some valve covers. I had casually looked at these awhile back, they used to offer black coated one also. While looking this week I noticed the block ones were no linger listed on the manufacturers website and all the vendors were out of stock. Heck only listed as having 4 sets left of the bare ones.
So knowing that parts and services are drying up for these 2v engines, I ordered a pair.
I had seen some mixed reviews online. Some whinging about the casting quality, others about the fill cap not being threaded.
I haven't made up my mind about adding a threaded fill cap or not yet. I definitely dont want oil misting all over like people mention on supercharged setups.
I'm also debating powdercoating these. Not sure if should go with body color or maybe just black.

Factory Eaton M112 off of a Terminator Mustang.
I also got the inlet and the factory throttle body, the factory 4v exhaust manifolds with the egr tube, the factory vacuum lines with fittings, and the factory supercharger balancer pulley and bracket.
Should be a nice start to the project.

With that rough of a casting surface I would give serious thought to powder coating them. Keeping them clean and neat looking otherwise would be quite the challenge. I don't see enough thickness of material there to thread. Might just be the pic angle though. Myself, I'd make the hole round and smooth the inside and top surface and with a good rubber grommet oil seepage concerns would go away.
Got the kit in from Tork Tek. Looks nice. Won't be able to put my hands on it for quite awhile yet.
Just need to get the coolant pump and heat exchanger. Got some nifty ideas of mounting some parts off the newer Shelbys that came factory supercharged.

Been doing some reading on different parts to complete the supergizer install.
Found a company that makes a bracket to install the GT500 heat exchanger behind the stocker bumper. Went ahead and ordered that.
After looking at numerous options on heat exchangers I'm pretty sure I'm set on one from "department of boost" They seem to make the largest one that'll fit behind the bumper for the new edge cars.

Going to wait to see if they have any sales around the holidays. No rush since this stuff will just be sitting around till I get back.
One of the next items I'm researching is the coolant pump for the heat exchanger. Seems like Ford kept the same pump from 03-04 Cobra and used it in the 07-15ish GT500. Might just go with that Bosch pump, the mounting bracket seems to go for more then the pump nowadays
I do need to also get a coolant reservoir for the heat exchanger. Been looking at the fancy aluminum ones. Naturally I need tonget the matching engine coolant one. I've even seem some have a power steering reservoir that matches. Usually either brushed or power coated black. I think the black would go better with the cars sleek look. I've also thought about getting the bare aluminum and having them powdercoated the body color. It's such a dark color though it generally looks black unless in direct light.
The rest is just 3/4" lines and clamps to connect everything together. A quick wiring for the pump and the heat exchanger system is pretty much complete.
I'm also looking into the fuel system. Fortunately I already upgraded the pump awhile back, so that should be fine. Just looking at new rails and injectors. Everything else should be good to go.

Got another part to add to the pile for my future supercharger install.
Wanted to get new fuel rails to go with everything. Looked at a few different options, I like the Fore Innovation ones. They're billet, made here in the USA, and come with all the required parts to install.
Options I got: The rear crossover with OEM connector. With the Eaton and Tork Tek kit moving the blower slightly forward, figured there would be ample room behind.
Fuel pressure gauge, partially for cool factor, but also to help troubleshoot fuel supply issues.
I need to source new injectors for the kit but I may hold off on that for now. Been looking at the standard Ford Racing 47 or 60 lb/hrs ones. Also looked at a Deatschwerks set that are 50 lbs. Heard wonderful things about Injoector Dynamics, but theirs are double the cost and are like 102 lbs/hrs.
I have acquired an aluminum WAP block. Trying to have it taken to a machine shop to see if it's good and what the cost would be to have a forged short block built up. If that falls through I'm debating ordering a built short block.
The stock engine has weak pistons and connecting rods, only good for 400 ish rwhp. So I don't want to blow the engine up. If I get a built motor I'll aim for the 5-600 hp mark with the parts. I'll still build for that with the stock block, the injectors would really be the main part I'd need to swap tho, so waiting on them for now.

For what its worth, I beat the snot out of my 3v 4.6 sporting a KB twin screw running a solid 8 lbs of boost all day everyday. That stock short block was said to be good to the same power levels. Never an issue. The key is a good tune and a solid fuel system. Keep it happy with enough gas and you can really push things. The fun difference between that 400 hp level and another 150+ isn't really much. When you can break'em loose into third how much more do you need unless you're actually racing at the strip? Just something to think about before deciding to drop a big sum on a shortblock.
